Indonesia, Arab Nations Condemn Israel's Attacks on Gaza Civilian Sites

Foreign ministers from Indonesia, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have issued a strong condemnation of Israel's continued attacks on the Gaza Strip. They specifically denounced the targeting of healthcare facilities, medical infrastructure, and the ongoing loss of civilian lives, including women and children.

The ministers asserted that these actions constitute severe violations of international law, including international humanitarian law. They stressed that the protection of civilians, medical personnel, and humanitarian facilities is a non-negotiable legal obligation. This protection extends to the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid and essential supplies.

Furthermore, the ministers linked Israel's actions in Gaza to settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, the expansion of illegal settlements, and unilateral measures aimed at altering the status quo in occupied East Jerusalem. They characterized these practices as a systematic policy to impose a fait accompli, damage the foundation of a two-state solution, and disregard Palestinian rights, in clear breach of international law and UN resolutions.

The group called upon the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking practical steps to compel Israel to comply with international law and UN Security Council resolutions. They unequivocally rejected any attempts to annex Palestinian territories, impose Israeli sovereignty, or forcibly displace Palestinians. The ministers reiterated that the only path to a just and comprehensive peace is through a serious political process leading to a two-state solution, with an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
