Indonesia Boosts Marine Tourism Ecosystem by Promoting Yacht Tourism

Indonesia is actively promoting yacht tourism as a cornerstone of its marine tourism strategy. Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana highlighted yacht tourism as one of three main pillars for high-quality marine tourism, alongside cruise and diving.

"This event is a showcase demonstrating the readiness of Indonesia's marine tourism ecosystem," Wardhana stated at the INSA Yacht Festival (IYF) 2026 in Bali. She emphasized that Indonesia's vast archipelago and location within the Coral Triangle, a region rich in marine biodiversity, provide significant potential for yacht tourism development.

The ministry recognizes that fostering a competitive yacht tourism industry requires collaboration among industry players, investors, communities, and government bodies. This integrated approach aims to enhance Indonesia's position as a world-class marine tourism destination.

"We hope this collaboration will have a broader impact, from increasing tourist arrivals and stimulating the shipping, marina, and shipyard industries, to supporting SMEs and creating more economic opportunities for coastal communities," Wardhana added. The initiative is expected to drive economic growth and create jobs across various sectors linked to marine tourism.
