Indonesia disburses first Rp17.6 billion claim for State Property Insurance

Indonesia has made its first claim payment under the State Property Insurance (ABMN) scheme, disbursing Rp17.6 billion to aid in the recovery of assets belonging to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. These assets were damaged by natural disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra in 2025.

The disbursement represents the inaugural payout from the ABMN scheme, which is financed through the Disaster Pooling Fund (PFB). The official handover ceremony took place in Jakarta, organized by the Directorate General of State Asset Management (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance. PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo), as the head of the ABMN Insurance Consortium (KABMN), presented the claim payment to the Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH).

Evita Manthovani, Director General of State Asset Management at the Ministry of Finance, emphasized the importance of protecting state assets, given Indonesia's high risk of natural disasters. "ABMN insurance is not just about fulfilling regulatory requirements, but it is an important part of strengthening the state's fiscal resilience through accelerated recovery of government assets affected by disasters," she stated.

Jasindo's Operational Director, Ocke Kurniandi, highlighted that this claim payment demonstrates how risk transfer mechanisms can help the government expedite the recovery of state assets, ensuring the continuity of public services. "As the Chair of the State Property Insurance Consortium, we are committed to ensuring optimal protection for strategic government assets. This claim payment shows that planned risk management can help the government accelerate the recovery process for state assets affected by disasters," Kurniandi said.

The claim payment is a follow-up to asset damage that occurred between November 25 and 30, 2025. The affected assets include buildings owned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The ABMN program, part of the Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (DRFI) scheme, has been implemented since 2019, with the insured value of state assets steadily increasing.
