Indonesia Sports Summit 2026 to Bring Together National and Global Leaders

Sport now extends far beyond matches and competition. Around every game sits a connected ecosystem of industry, investment, infrastructure, technology, communities and diplomacy.

That wider role will shape the Indonesia Sports Summit 2026, scheduled for Sept. 11 to 13 at the Jakarta International Convention Center in Jakarta. The summit will bring together government representatives, business figures, sports federations, communities and young people to discuss the future of Indonesia’s sports ecosystem.

A central event will be the Global Leadership Forum, a high-level gathering focused on the strategic direction of the sports economy, sports diplomacy and global cooperation to build a sustainable sports ecosystem. The forum will feature Indonesian Sports Minister Erick Thohir, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, Asian Football Confederation Secretary-General Datuk Seri Windsor John and AFC Ajax Amsterdam CEO Menno Geelen.

Thohir, the forum’s keynote speaker, will open the program at Hall Cendrawasih on Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. Menno Geelen will speak the following day about building sustainable football ecosystems through green stadiums, economic growth and community value. Geelen became Ajax chief executive on July 1, 2025, after holding several commercial and other roles at the club.

Roeslani will lead a session on financing the future of sports through trust funds, strategic capital and national development. His contribution will focus on investment, asset management and the economic potential of sport. The session is scheduled for Sept. 12 at 1 p.m.
