Indonesia to Include Investment Body Danantara in Financial Stability Coordination

Indonesia's Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) will integrate the Investment Management Body Danantara Nusantara into its coordination efforts, a move initiated by President Joko Widodo. Anggito Abimanyu, Chairman of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), announced the directive, stating it would enhance coordination among financial sector authorities.

The KSSK, which includes the Finance Minister, Bank Indonesia Governor, Financial Services Authority (OJK) Chairman, and LPS Chairman, is responsible for aligning fiscal, monetary, financial services, and bank resolution policies. While Danantara will participate, Abimanyu clarified its role is to bolster coordination, not to make policy decisions. Each authority will continue to set policies within its mandate.

Danantara, a presidential body, manages strategic investments and state-owned enterprise assets. As of January 2026, it oversaw assets valued at approximately $1 trillion USD, encompassing 1,044 state-owned enterprises, with plans to streamline this number. The committee's recent meeting noted that financial system stability remained robust in the first quarter of 2026, despite global market volatility influenced by Middle East conflicts. The KSSK operates under laws governing financial crisis prevention and resolution.
