Indonesian Air Force Explains F-16 Fighter Jet Flyover Near Monas

The Indonesian Air Force has clarified the reason behind the flight of three F-16 fighter jets over Jakarta's skies early Friday morning. Air Force Information Service Chief Marshal TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana confirmed the aircraft's presence, stating it was part of a planned training exercise.

These maneuvers were integrated with the Merdeka Run event, organized to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's Independence. The F-16 Fighting Falcon jets departed from Iswahjudi Air Base in Magetan, East Java, and proceeded towards the capital city.

The planned route saw the three jets flying over the National Monument (Monas) area in Central Jakarta. Following the completion of their flight path, the aircraft safely landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta. The Air Force provided this explanation in response to circulating discussions about the early morning flight.
