Indonesian and Singaporean Forces Conclude Joint Commando Exercise

The 32nd joint exercise between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Special Forces Command (Kopassus), dubbed Exercise Chandrapura (XCP), concluded in Singapore from July 1-6, 2026. This annual event, which began in 1994, underscores the long-standing defense relationship between the two nations.

The exercise involved intensive training and knowledge exchange, covering commando tactics, operational techniques, and mission planning. Practical skills such as close-quarters combat, fast-roping, rappelling, and static parachuting were honed. The training culminated in a Field Training Exercise (FTX) at SAFTI City, where participants simulated a joint attack on enemy targets.

Brigadier General Wong Shi Ming, Chief of the General Staff of the Singapore Army, and Lieutenant General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, jointly led the closing ceremony. Wong emphasized the exercise's role in reflecting the robust and expanding relationship between the two elite forces, built on years of interaction and shared experiences.

The exchange of paratrooper badges at the end of the exercise served as a symbol of mutual respect and friendship.
