Indonesian Athletes Place in Top 10 at World Athletics U20 Championships

Young Indonesian track and field athletes Anugrah Styawan Pujo Santoso and Hoshi Fatihah Azharah have concluded their participation in the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon, United States. Both athletes secured top-10 finishes in their respective events, marking a significant step in their athletic development.

Anugrah Styawan Pujo Santoso competed in the men's 110m hurdles, finishing eighth in Heat 2 of Round 1 with a time of 18.86 seconds. Despite a strong effort throughout the race, Anugrah stumbled and fell just before the final hurdle, a mishap that ultimately cost him a better placement. His determination to finish, however, was evident as he crossed the line.

In the women's 200-meter event, Hoshi Fatihah Azharah secured a sixth-place finish in Round 1, Heat 3, clocking in at 24.60 seconds. Her performance showcased her potential against a field of the world's best junior athletes.

The All Indonesia Athletics Association (PB PASI) highlighted the fierce international competition these young athletes faced.
