Indonesian Corrections Agency Responds to Viral Video of Waingapu Facility Head's Residence

Indonesia's Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen PAS) has addressed a viral video that purportedly depicts a raid on the official residence of the Correctional Facility (Kalapas) head in Waingapu, East Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The video has circulated widely on social media, prompting an official response from the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

"The person concerned has been reassigned," Aprianti stated, adding that the former facility head now holds a position in a regional office in East Jakarta.

The video, which is approximately six minutes long, gained significant traction after being uploaded to Instagram. It shows individuals in correctional officer uniforms entering a house, identified by the uploader as the official residence of the Waingapu Kalapas. Inside, officers question a young woman who identifies herself as 19 years old and states she has been living in the house for two weeks.
