Indonesian Cricket Wins 3 Regional ICC Awards, Reaches Global Stage

Indonesian cricket has earned a place on the global stage, securing three regional accolades at the 2025 ICC Development Awards and qualifying for four global award categories. This remarkable achievement puts Indonesia on par with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the nation with the most nominations in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) development awards.

These awards highlight the outstanding programs implemented by ICC members to expand cricket's reach, create new opportunities, and deliver tangible impact on society.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah praised the winners for their "outstanding programs" that expand cricket's reach and create opportunities. He noted that this year's recipients demonstrate "innovation, ambition, inclusivity, and a strong commitment to developing the game." Indonesia stood out in the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) region, winning awards for ICC Development Initiative of the Year, ICC Associate Member Men's Team Performance of the Year, and ICC Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative of the Year.

Indonesia's Chairman of the Cricket Association, Abhiram Singh Yadav, expressed pride in the nation's progress. "A few years ago, it was difficult to imagine Indonesia standing alongside the world's best cricket development nations," he stated. "Today, through the hard work of the entire Indonesian cricket community, we have succeeded in becoming regional champions and advancing to the global level."

The ICC Development Awards, established in 2002, celebrate members who show innovation and tangible impact in cricket development. Regional champions from across the globe will now be evaluated by an independent panel, including former international players and ICC representatives, to determine the ultimate global winners, who will be announced in July.
