Indonesian Fighter Bilal Hasan Dominates UFC Debut with Second-Round Knockout

Bilal Hasan, an American-born fighter representing Indonesia, made a powerful statement in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut on Saturday in Shanghai, China. He delivered a decisive knockout blow to his Peruvian opponent, Nilson Rojas, in the second round of their flyweight bout.

Hasan, known by his nickname "The Indoninja," sealed the victory with a precise right hand that sent Rojas to the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the fight immediately. This win not only marks a successful entry into the UFC but also extends Hasan's professional mixed martial arts record to an impressive 10 wins and zero losses, with one previous bout resulting in a no-contest. Of his ten victories, four have come by way of knockout (KO) or technical knockout (TKO).

From the opening moments of the first round, the 25-year-old Hasan exhibited an aggressive and commanding offensive strategy. He relentlessly pressured Rojas, who entered the fight undefeated in his nine professional bouts. Hasan's varied attacks, including kicks, punches, and knees, consistently cornered Rojas, leaving him visibly shaken and bleeding. Although the first round concluded without a stoppage, Hasan had clearly established dominance.

The second round saw a brief moment where Rojas managed to drop Hasan with a kick. However, Hasan quickly recovered, demonstrating resilience and focus. He regained his footing and continued to press his advantage. After a feint, Hasan landed the decisive straight right hand to Rojas' chin, securing the knockout. UFC statistics highlighted Hasan's superior striking, as he landed 56 strikes out of 137 attempts, with 53 deemed significant, compared to Rojas' 37 landed strikes (33 significant) out of 70 attempts.
