Indonesian Immigration Probes Dutch-Organized Bali Event Excluding Locals

Indonesian immigration authorities are investigating a running event in Bali that reportedly barred local participation, allegedly organized by two Dutch nationals. The Directorate General of Immigration has ordered the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to summon all relevant parties, including the event organizers and sponsors of the "Bali Silent Disco" event. Immigration Director General Hendarsam Marantoko stated that if foreign nationals organize events, it is illegal under immigration law. The investigation revealed that the event was organized by Entourage Bali, with two Dutch citizens identified as organizers: JAS, 35, who held a limited stay permit for work, and HQV, 37, who held an investor permit. Both individuals reportedly left Indonesia on July 23, 2026. Consequently, immigration has banned them from re-entering the country. Hendarsam emphasized that foreigners are not permitted to organize events in Indonesia; they can only serve as official crew for international performers. Immigration is now questioning PT SIG, the guarantor or sponsor for the two Dutch nationals, regarding their activities in Indonesia and compliance with their stay permits. The authorities warned that sponsors violating immigration rules would also face consequences. Hendarsam reiterated that all activities involving foreigners must adhere to regulations, and foreign nationals cannot create their own rules or exclusivity within Indonesian jurisdiction. He stressed that immigration's function is to protect the public by ensuring justice, public order, and comfort for citizens against unlawful foreign actions.
