Indonesian-Made Hangers Set to Join the Global Supply Chain

A basic household item used in the United States is being made in Indonesia. PT JSWB Metal Products, based in the Candi Industrial Estate in Semarang, produces clothing hangers exclusively for export to the American market.

The company’s export push has gained support through approval for bonded-zone facilities from the Central Java and Yogyakarta Regional Customs Office. The facility is expected to give PT JSWB more room to expand production, reach wider export markets, and develop its investment in Indonesia.

With all of its production destined for the United States market, PT JSWB Metal Products is an example of how Indonesian manufactured products can reach global markets.

PT JSWB’s production capacity stood at 31.2 million pieces in 2026 and is projected to reach 156 million by 2030. Its investment is expected to rise from 20.07 billion rupiah to 41.31 billion rupiah over the same period. The company employed 84 local workers in 2026, with that number projected to reach 105 by 2030.

Agus Yulianto, head of the regional customs office, said the factory showed how an apparently simple Indonesian-made product could enter an international supply chain linking workers in Semarang with consumers in the United States. He said the bonded-zone approval formed part of customs authorities’ effort to support exports, investment, and local employment.
