Indonesian MotoGP Stars Greet Fans in Yogyakarta Ahead of Mandalika Grand Prix

Indonesian Grand Prix riders Veda Ega Pratama and Mario Suryo Aji connected with fans in Yogyakarta during a "Homecoming Tour Local Heroes Indonesia - Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026." The meet-and-greet event, following a similar one in Jakarta, drew an enthusiastic crowd at the March 1 Monument in Malioboro.

Fans from various regions gathered to welcome the two racers, who are considered national pride. The event is part of the preparations for the Grand Prix of Indonesia, scheduled to take place at the Mandalika Circuit from October 9-11, 2026.

Ananda Mikola, CEO of MGPA (Mandalika Grand Prix Association), emphasized the importance of public support for the riders. "Let's support our local heroes. They have both brought honor to the country," Mikola stated during the event on Sunday. He highlighted that competing in a World Championship is a rare opportunity for any racer.

Mikola encouraged Pratama and Aji to make the most of their chance to race internationally. "An opportunity like yours cannot be missed twice," he advised the young athletes, underscoring the significance of their participation on the global stage.
