Indonesian Police Chief Appoints New Head of Traffic Corps

The Indonesian National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has officially appointed Inspector General Wibowo as the new Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), succeeding Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho. The handover ceremony took place at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday, July 4th, alongside similar ceremonies for several other high-ranking officials and six regional police chiefs.

The appointment and handover of positions are part of organizational development, which is continuously carried out to maintain leadership continuity and improve the quality of Polri services to the community.

This appointment is part of a series of organizational dynamics within the National Police aimed at maintaining leadership continuity and improving public service quality. Inspector General Ruddi Setiawan was appointed as the Head of the Aceh Regional Police, replacing Inspector General Marzuki Ali Basyah. Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy is now the Head of the West Sumatra Regional Police, moving from his previous role as Head of the West Kalimantan Regional Police. Inspector General Pipit Rismanto takes over as the Head of the West Java Regional Police, previously serving as Head of the West Kalimantan Regional Police.

Further changes include Inspector General Alberd Teddy Benhard Sianipar filling the position of Head of the West Kalimantan Regional Police. Inspector General Agus Wijayanto has been appointed as the Head of the North Kalimantan Regional Police, a role previously held by Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy. Lastly, Brigadier General Gatot Haribowo has been replaced by Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru as the Head of the Southwest Papua Regional Police.

Isir added that such mutations are standard mechanisms for developing human resources and strengthening operational execution at both central and regional levels, expressing hope that the newly appointed officials will quickly adapt and continue to enhance the quality of service, protection, and guidance provided to the public.
