Indonesian Police Prepare Situational Traffic Control for Annual Parliamentary Session

Indonesian police are preparing situational traffic management strategies to address potential vehicle congestion during the 2026 Annual Joint Session of the MPR-DPR-DPD. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 14th, at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, stated that traffic arrangements will be dynamic, responding to the flow of vehicles around the venue. "Traffic regulation and engineering will be applied situationally, considering the development of vehicle flow. Diversions will only be implemented if necessary to ensure the smoothness of public mobility," Hermanto explained.

Authorities are advising the public, particularly those whose activities take them through the Senayan area, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Palmerah, and the vicinity of the DPR/MPR RI Complex, to factor in extra travel time. Commuters are also urged to follow instructions from officers if traffic density increases in the vicinity.

Security for the Annual Joint Session will involve a substantial contingent of 8,095 joint personnel. This includes 800 personnel from the National Police Headquarters, 4,230 from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, 1,163 from regional police units, 1,850 from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and 52 personnel from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
