Indonesian Police Seize Nearly $61,000 Worth of Synthetic Drugs in Bogor

Authorities in Serang, Indonesia, have confiscated synthetic narcotics valued at approximately Rp1 billion (around $61,000 USD) following the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect identified as NS in Bogor, West Java. The Serang Police's Narcotics Investigation Unit made the discovery after intercepting a suspicious package destined for an unclear recipient address in Serang.

After examination, a bottle of synthetic spray narcotics was found, sent from the Bogor area with an unclear recipient address.

The package, containing a bottle of synthetic spray, originated from Bogor. Acting on this lead, the investigation team tracked down and apprehended NS at his residence. A subsequent search of NS's home and rented room uncovered a substantial quantity of illicit substances. The seized items included 84 small bottles and 80 large bottles of synthetic liquid spray, along with 28 packages of synthetic narcotic seeds.

According to Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan, the total value of the confiscated evidence approaches Rp1 billion. The street value of these narcotics is considerable, with small bottles of the spray reportedly selling for Rp1.5 million, large bottles for Rp3 million, and a package of synthetic seeds for around Rp20 million. The investigation is ongoing, with police actively seeking the primary supplier of these substances.

AKP Bondan Rahadiansyah, Head of the Serang Narcotics Unit, stated that NS claims to have obtained the drugs from an individual he met on Instagram. Police have reportedly identified the Instagram account owner and are intensifying efforts to apprehend them, viewing them as the main supplier in this network. NS and the confiscated narcotics are currently being held at the Serang Police headquarters for further legal proceedings.
