Indonesian President Praises Minister Bahlil as Youth Inspiration

President Prabowo Subianto has lauded Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, describing his life journey as a significant inspiration for Indonesia's younger generation. Despite admitting to a relatively short acquaintance with Bahlil, Prabowo emphasized that the minister's ability to overcome limitations and achieve national leadership demonstrates that a modest background is not a barrier to success.

Prabowo elaborated that true leadership is forged through adversity, not ease. He believes that challenges, suffering, and obstacles are the crucibles that shape a leader's courage, resilience, and character, asserting that individuals who have never faced difficulties will struggle to become strong leaders.

Prabowo drew a parallel between his own decades of experience leading soldiers and his ability to discern leadership qualities. He noted that even brief interactions, like the few meetings he's had with Bahlil, are sufficient for him to assess a person's character. He observed in Bahlil a blend of intelligence and bravery, essential components for effective leadership. The President also dismissed the notion that prestigious university names solely determine a person's quality, arguing that intelligence is more profoundly shaped by family environment, parental education, and challenging life experiences.
