Indonesian sailors injured, one missing after ship attack off Yemen

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that two Indonesian sailors were injured and one is still missing following an air attack on the MV Tihamah ship near Yemen's southern coast on Tuesday. The vessel was reportedly near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait when the incident occurred.

According to Heni Hamidah, Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there were three Indonesian nationals among the 11 crew members on board the MV Tihamah. She stated that the ministry, through its embassy in Muscat, is actively coordinating with relevant authorities to gather more information about the attack.

Based on communications with the surviving Indonesian crew members, one sailor suffered minor injuries from shrapnel and did not require hospitalization. Another Indonesian sailor sustained injuries and is currently receiving stable medical treatment in a hospital. The third Indonesian crew member has not yet been located.

The attack on the MV Tihamah occurred while the ship was docked at the Port of Bab el-Mandeb in Murad, Yemen. The ministry continues its efforts to confirm the fate of the missing sailor and to provide assistance to the affected crew members.
