Indonesian Scouts Educated on Renewable Energy from Palm Oil at National Jamboree

Indonesia is introducing its younger generation to the potential of palm oil as a source for renewable energy during the National Jamboree (Jamnas) XII 2026 in Jakarta. Approximately 5,000 Scouts are participating in educational sessions focused on biodiesel and the various applications of palm oil.

The educational initiative, which ran from August 15-20, 2026, took place at the Buperta Cibubur site. It was organized by the Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (APROBI) with financial support from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP).

Promoting biodiesel and palm oil has been a routine agenda for APROBI in National Scouting Activities, and this time we are back participating in the National Jamboree XII in 2026.

Catra de Thouars, Deputy Chairman of APROBI, stated that the event serves to highlight the advancements in biofuel utilization in Indonesia, including the national mandate for biodiesel up to B50. "Promoting biodiesel and palm oil has been a routine agenda for APROBI in National Scouting Activities," de Thouars said, emphasizing the organization's consistent participation in such events.

The educational content covered the biodiesel mandate, the role of palm oil as a feedstock, everyday uses of palm oil products, and the industry's contribution to the national economy and foreign exchange earnings. APROBI has been involved in similar educational activities within national scouting events since 2016, aiming to foster understanding and pride in Indonesia's natural resources.
