Indonesian Soldiers Commended for Re-hoisting National Flag in Banda Aceh

Two Indonesian soldiers have been lauded for their courage after they re-hoisted the nation's flag, the Merah Putih, at the Grand Mosque of Banda Aceh. The flag had previously been taken down by an unidentified group on Saturday, August 15th. The soldiers, identified as Sergeant First Class Irfan Farhan from Yonif 112/DJ Kodam Iskandar Muda and Private First Class Donni Pinto Harahap from Yonarmed 17/RC Kodam Iskandar Muda, acted swiftly to restore the national symbol.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya met with the two soldiers and expressed his deep appreciation for their bravery and initiative. He stated that their actions serve as a reminder that patriotism is demonstrated not only through grand duties but also through the courage to be present, assist, and protect fellow citizens.
