Dhea Natasya has etched her name in Indonesian sporting history, becoming the first woman from the country to qualify for the prestigious World Surf League (WSL) World Longboard Tour for the 2026-2027 season. Her remarkable achievement was sealed with a victory at the recent Hamamatsu Open 2026 held in Japan.

Natasya, who began surfing at age nine in Bali, shared that her journey to the top was built on consistent daily habits and mental fortitude. Initially fearful of the water due to not being a strong swimmer, her competitive spirit ignited after witnessing her younger brother win a competition. This sparked a dedication to practice that transformed her childhood hobby into an international sporting career.

Her path to the World Tour involved accumulating regional qualification points across Asia. She secured a first-place finish in South Korea in 2025 and a second place in the Philippines before clinching the top spot at the Hamamatsu Open.
