Indonesian Surveyor and Mining Agency Strengthen Competencies for Sustainable Mining

Indonesia's mining sector requires a skilled workforce to drive national development and the downstreaming of mineral and energy resources. The industry faces challenges in governance, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of sustainable mining practices, making the enhancement of human resource capacity crucial.

The mineral and energy sectors are vital to Indonesia's economic growth, contributing to investment and employment. Downstreaming initiatives are expected to increase the added value and competitiveness of national industries. However, issues such as licensing, oversight, regulatory adherence, and the quality of human resources remain significant hurdles.

To address these needs, the Center for Human Resource Development for Geology, Mineral, and Coal (PPSDM Geominerba) has entered into a partnership with PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero). This collaboration focuses on developing human resource competency and providing technical assistance in mining operations.

"PT Surveyor Indonesia is committed to providing services that not only focus on testing, inspection, and certification but also promote the enhancement of competency and strengthening the governance of the mining sector. Through synergy with PPSDM Geominerba, we hope to contribute to creating a more professional, competitive, and sustainable mining ecosystem," stated Euis Emalia Noor, Director of Commerce and Operations at PT Surveyor Indonesia.

The agreement includes developing programs for technical skill enhancement, strengthening operational and administrative management, and leveraging technology and digitalization to improve mining activities' effectiveness. Both parties will work together to improve the quality of mining services and strengthen the governance of mineral and energy commodity management.
