As the school holiday season approaches, Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism is calling on tourism destination managers to bolster safety, security, and comfort measures. The ministry highlighted the importance of destination readiness to ensure tourists can enjoy their holidays safely amidst an anticipated surge in visitors.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa inspected Waterbom Bali, a popular tourist attraction, to assess its preparedness. She stressed that the increase in tourist mobility must be matched by adequate safety standards.

Destination managers are urged to ensure all facilities, support systems, and risk mitigation plans are functioning correctly before the expected influx of visitors. Puspa views the school holidays not only as an opportunity to boost tourism numbers but also as a chance to showcase the quality of Indonesia's destination management.

The ministry also supports the strengthening of tourism safety culture through training and certification programs for industry players, particularly for high-risk activities like mountain trekking, water sports, rafting, and snorkeling. Additionally, the ministry has developed national competency standards for tourism services, including safety and security aspects.

Waterbom Bali CEO Sayan Gulino confirmed the attraction has conducted routine facility checks and is prepared for increased visitor numbers, drawing on 33 years of experience. He also emphasized the importance of visitor capacity management to ensure safety and comfort, stating that visitor numbers will be adjusted to the facility's carrying capacity to prevent long queues and maintain a positive experience.
