Indonesian Traffic Police Corps launches Road Safety Festival

The Indonesian Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas Polri) hosted a Road Safety Festival in Tangerang Selatan on Thursday, August 27. The event was officially opened by Inspector General Wibowo, the head of Korlantas Polri, who was joined by several other high-ranking officials from the corps.

Through this Road Safety Festival, let us all make it a momentum to strengthen our shared commitment. Let's start with simple things and the most important thing by never underestimating the aspect of safety.

During his opening remarks, Inspector General Wibowo expressed his hope that the festival would serve as a catalyst for strengthening collective commitment to road safety. He urged participants to begin with simple actions and to never underestimate the importance of safety.

"A good journey is not one that reaches home quickly," Wibowo stated. "But a journey that brings us to our destination safely." He emphasized that traffic safety awareness must originate from individuals, their families, and their immediate communities.

Wibowo further expressed his hope that by cultivating this sense of awareness among the public, the number of traffic accidents and fatalities could be reduced. He called for the creation of safe roadways for everyone, encouraging children to become safety-conscious, students to be agents of change, drivers to set examples of safe driving, and all citizens to become champions of traffic safety.
