Indonesian women gain entrepreneurial skills, secure hundreds of orders through workshops

Entrepreneurial workshops in West Java, Indonesia, are empowering women and demonstrating tangible economic benefits, with participants securing hundreds of orders for their products. The 'Empowered Women' workshops, organized by the Yayasan Indonesia Setara (YIS), are equipping women with essential skills in food processing, particularly in frozen foods.

The workshop held in Ciawi, Bogor Regency, on August 13, 2026, saw enthusiastic participation. A total of 20 attendees secured pre-orders, amassing 2,090 items. Rahmawati led the group with 231 pre-orders, potentially earning Rp 1,155,000 based on an estimated product price of Rp 5,000 per piece. Vera followed with 186 pre-orders, estimated to bring in Rp 930,000.

Similar success was observed in the Depok workshop on August 19, 2026. Participants actively applied their newly acquired skills in producing and marketing frozen food items. Denny Rahayu received the highest number of pre-orders with 245 pieces, potentially earning Rp 1,960,000 at an estimated price of Rp 8,000 per piece. Melly secured 210 pre-orders, with an estimated income of Rp 1,680,000.

These workshops highlight the effectiveness of targeted training in fostering small business growth and providing women with pathways to financial independence. The focus on frozen food products addresses a growing market demand, enabling participants to translate their newly acquired skills into profitable ventures.
