Indramayu Deputy Regent Named Suspect in DPRD Housing Allowance Corruption Case

The West Java High Prosecutor's Office has named three individuals as suspects in a corruption case concerning housing allowances for the Indramayu Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) in 2023. The accused include the current Deputy Regent of Indramayu, S, who previously held the position of DPRD Chairman from 2019 to 2024.

Also named as suspects are IM, the acting Secretary of the DPRD, and AF, the Secretary of the DPRD. Investigators summoned these three individuals on Friday, June 12, 2026, for questioning regarding the alleged corruption. While IM and AF appeared for examination, suspect S was absent due to illness and submitted a medical certificate to the investigators.

The alleged corruption related to housing and transportation allowances for DPRD leaders and members between the 2022 and 2025 fiscal years has reportedly resulted in state losses of approximately Rp 18 billion. The Kasipenkum (Head of Public Relations) of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office, Nur Sricahyawijaya, stated that details of the examination and evidence from searches could not yet be disclosed as the investigation is ongoing.

S, the Deputy Regent, was the Chairman of the Indramayu DPRD during the period in question. The investigation is continuing, with authorities yet to provide further details on the specifics of the alleged misappropriation of funds.
