Infantino's World Cup Travels: 60,000 Miles by Private Jet

FIFA President Gianni Infantino undertook extensive travel during the 2026 World Cup, covering roughly 60,000 miles across North America over 39 days. His journey involved attending more than 40 matches in 16 cities spread across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, navigating four time zones.

Infantino utilized a Gulfstream G650ER private jet, operated by Qatar Executive, the private jet division of Qatar Airways, the official sponsor of the World Cup. This travel was necessary due to the tournament's geographically dispersed nature, spanning three countries.

Beyond match attendance, Infantino's schedule included a trip to Doha for the funeral of Qatar's former emir, which added approximately 29 flight hours. He also made stops for an interview with Fox & Friends in New York and a FIFA summit in Miami. His private jet averaged more than one flight per day, with some days seeing over three flights.

During his World Cup tour, Infantino visited 21 airports, frequently using main international hubs but also smaller executive airports. The longest flight recorded was nearly six hours, while the shortest was a 28-minute hop between Seattle and Vancouver. By the tournament's conclusion, his flight mileage was equivalent to circling the Earth nearly two and a half times.
