Influencer's partner fined by Bali police for riding without helmet, international permit

The incident occurred while they were riding a motorbike, and her partner was stopped for not wearing a helmet and lacking international driving permits.

Meseguer explained that her partner was asked to go to a police booth, where he was fined for the violations. She stressed the importance for foreigners in Bali to possess international driving permits, noting that local licenses may not be valid. These permits, she advised, can be obtained from "Regitra" (likely a Lithuanian vehicle registration agency) and are crucial for navigating local law enforcement.

The influencer also issued a stark warning about the chaotic traffic conditions in Bali. She described a lack of rules on the road, with drivers frequently going against traffic, cutting others off, running red lights, and even driving under the influence or with multiple passengers on one bike. Meseguer highlighted that police often target foreigners without helmets, viewing them as a source of income through fines, as they are less likely to collect significant amounts from locals.
