InfraNexia and Lintasarta strengthen Medan-Batam-Padang connectivity with DWDM

InfraNexia and Lintasarta are expanding high-capacity digital links between Sumatra and Batam through Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing, or DWDM.

The companies formalized the cooperation by signing an agreement during the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference in Nusa Dua on Aug. 26, 2026. The project covers the Medan-Batam and Padang-Batam routes, two strategic corridors connecting Sumatra with Batam.

DWDM allows several high-speed data channels to travel simultaneously through a single optical fiber. The companies described the technology as important for customers requiring large capacity, reliable latency and network scalability, including corporations, cloud platforms and data centers.

InfraNexia President Director Lukman Hakim Abd. Rauf said the partnership would help expand infrastructure use through an open and collaborative approach. “Digital economic growth requires networks that can provide not only large capacity, but also expand in line with customer needs,” he said. He added that the two routes would support service expansion, rising data traffic and future digital demand.

Lintasarta President Director Armand Hermawan said demand for digital services, cloud infrastructure, data centers and technology-based workloads continues to grow. The companies said the agreement reflected InfraNexia’s role as an open-access and neutral telecommunications infrastructure provider.
