Instagram Celeb Adam Deni Arrested for Damaging Shop, Brandishing Weapon in Jakarta

Instagram celebrity Adam Deni Gearaka has been officially named a suspect following an incident where he damaged a shop and displayed a firearm in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The North Jakarta Metropolitan Police revealed that Deni's actions were motivated by a personal dispute, reportedly stemming from an argument involving a close friend and the shop owner.

According to Deputy Head of the North Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adj. Comr. Bima Sakti, Deni became enraged when he learned his friend had been verbally abused by the shop's owner. "So, suspect ADG could not accept it and went to the crime scene, damaging property and threatening other witnesses at the scene," Bima told reporters on Monday, June 22, 2026. Sakti also noted that witnesses indicated Deni was a former employee at the shop and had previously been reprimanded by the owner.

Police have questioned eight witnesses and seized evidence, including damaged property, the clothing Deni wore during the incident, and an airsoft gun he carried. The 30-year-old was apprehended in Cilincing and is currently detained at the North Jakarta Police detention center. The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Comr. Budi Hermanto, confirmed Deni's suspect status and subsequent detention.

During questioning, Adam Deni reportedly admitted to his actions and requested restorative justice. However, police emphasized that intimidation involving a weapon and property damage must be processed professionally. The incident began when Deni allegedly forced his way into the victim's business premises, causing damage to a neon sign, a dividing wall, and other facilities. He is also accused of intimidating security personnel by displaying an airsoft gun.

The situation escalated on Thursday evening, June 18, 2026, when Deni allegedly returned and damaged the victim's parked car. The police investigation is ongoing, with authorities balancing Deni's request for restorative justice against the need for professional legal proceedings.
