Intense heat and thunderstorms forecast for Kazakhstan on August 10

Kazakhstan is bracing for a day of extreme weather on August 10, with intense heat dominating many areas while thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in others. Major cities like Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent will swelter under partly cloudy skies with no precipitation, with temperatures reaching up to 39°C in Shymkent.

However, several regions are set to experience more volatile conditions. Akmola Region will see rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and squalls, with winds shifting significantly. Daytime highs in these areas will still reach intense heat levels of 33-38°C.

Almaty and Zhetysu Regions are also forecast to have rain and thunderstorms, particularly in southern and eastern mountainous areas. These regions will experience strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 28 m/s near the Alakol Lakes in Zhetysu. Nighttime temperatures will vary, dropping to 10-15°C in the mountains.

West Kazakhstan Region is also in for a rough day with rain and thunderstorms, including hail and squalls, especially in the west and north. While temperatures here will be slightly cooler, ranging from 27-32°C, the stormy conditions are expected to disrupt daily life.
