Inter agree €7.5m Akinsanmiro sale to Monza

Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is on the verge of a move from Inter Milan to fellow Serie A side Monza, with a transfer fee reportedly set at €7.5 million.

The deal includes a 10% sell-on clause, suggesting Inter Milan still believes in the 21-year-old's potential for a future high-profile transfer.

Akinsanmiro's future at Inter had been uncertain since his return from a loan spell at Pisa, where he could not prevent the club from being relegated from Italy's top flight. Pisa opted not to exercise their €8 million buy option.

Inter Milan signed Akinsanmiro in 2024 from Nigerian club Remo Stars, a notable pathway from the Nigeria Professional Football League to a major European club. However, limited first-team opportunities at Inter led to loan spells at Sampdoria and Pisa.

The move to Monza, who have just returned to Serie A, is expected to offer Akinsanmiro the stability needed to develop his career. However, the club itself faces the challenge of avoiding an immediate return to the second division.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the deal is agreed, with Akinsanmiro expected to complete his move within the next week or two.
