Inter draw on experience to beat Cagliari 1-0

Inter Milan controlled most of the match against Cagliari, then had to survive a late scare before securing a 1-0 victory.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a long-range shot after receiving the ball from Nicolò Barella. Inter dominated the first half and went into the break having attempted 15 shots, while Cagliari had managed none.

Cristian Chivu’s team used Federico Dimarco and Luis Henrique to provide width, while Alessandro Bastoni helped start attacks from the back. Lautaro Martínez moved to create space for Francesco Pio Esposito, who played as the more advanced striker. Inter controlled the game and could have taken a larger lead.

The balance changed after halftime. Inter lost some of its authority and allowed Cagliari more room to attack. The home side came closest to an equalizer when Michel Adopo found a loose ball in the area and shot toward goal, only for Yann Aurel Bisseck to head the attempt away from near the line.

Inter held on for its second win and will next try to preserve its unbeaten start at home against Napoli. Cagliari will host Lecce in its next match.
