Intoxicated Man Resists Arrest, Assaults Officer in Lithuania

A man in Giedraičiai, Molėtai district, has been detained after allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer during a public order incident. The confrontation occurred early Sunday morning when officers responded to a report of loud music emanating from a yard.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to identify the individual responsible for the disturbance. However, the man reportedly refused to comply with their lawful commands. During the subsequent attempt to detain him, he resisted and assaulted a uniformed officer from the Molėtai District Police Commissariat, born in 1995.

The officer, after receiving medical attention, was able to continue his duties. The suspect, identified as an intoxicated man born in 1969, registered a blood alcohol level of 1.70 promille. He has been taken to a detention facility, and an investigation into resisting police has been initiated.
