Intoxicated Woman Struck by Car in South Korea, Remains Unconscious

A woman in her 20s is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while lying on a road in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The incident occurred around 1:35 AM on Tuesday near a pension in Cheongpyeong-myeon.

Residents discovered the severely injured woman and reported the situation to emergency services. She was transported to a hospital by the 119 rescue team but has not regained consciousness. Initial investigations, based on CCTV footage, suggest the woman had collapsed on the road due to intoxication.

A vehicle then passed over her, causing her injuries. Police have since identified the 20-something female driver of the car involved. She has been brought in for questioning on a voluntary basis.

Authorities have stated that there is currently no suspicion of the driver operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is also reported that the driver and the injured woman were not acquainted with each other. The investigation is ongoing to determine the precise sequence of events leading to the accident.
