The IRGC Navy has struck multiple bases of the terrorist army of the United States in the region in response to these invasions.

The IRGC stated in a release that the US had violated a ceasefire agreement, citing the US attack on Iranian coastlines as a response to an alleged Iranian drone attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The statement asserted that the IRGC Navy's actions were in response to these "invasions."

This exchange represents the first direct military confrontation between the two nations since they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at establishing a ceasefire. Iranian parliamentary official Ebrahim Azizi warned of broader responses if violations of the passage control procedures in the Strait of Hormuz, which he stated are under Iran's authority according to the MOU, were to continue.

In response to the US airstrikes, US Vice President JD Vance reiterated a firm stance, stating, "We will respond to violence with violence." Vance posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Iran had signed the ceasefire agreement and that the US had adhered to it. He suggested that any disagreements regarding the MOU's implementation could be addressed through direct communication.
