Iran claims missile, drone attacks on US facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone attacks on several US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The IRGC stated that targets included fuel support docks for the US Navy fleet at Kuwait's Al Ahmadi Port and the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. According to reports, Iran also claimed to have destroyed a US intelligence data center and US military signal and communication centers in Kuwait.

Bahrain reported that its air defense system successfully intercepted several Iranian air attacks. The Kingdom of Bahrain, which hosts the US Fifth Fleet, has repeatedly activated its air defense system amid the recent escalation. These Iranian attacks followed seven consecutive nights of US military operations against Iran, which the US military stated were aimed at weakening Iran's military capabilities. Iranian media reported explosions in several regions within Iran.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) had focused its operations on Iran's military logistics network, surveillance systems, coastal infrastructure, and related capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to reduce Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping routes. In response, Iran expanded its attacks to targets related to the United States in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and other regional areas.

Iran specifically claimed the destruction of the Batelco intelligence data center in Bahrain, which it described as a facility used by the United States to guide its military operations. The IRGC stated the facility was "completely destroyed by ballistic missiles and dozens of drones." Iran also claimed to have attacked a US military drone storage warehouse in Bahrain. This escalation occurred despite a memorandum of understanding mediated by Pakistan in June, intended to end the war and pave the way for a long-term peace agreement.
