Iran: Israel is bound by peace deal with US, like Hezbollah

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that Israel is considered a party to the peace agreement with the United States, drawing a parallel with Hezbollah. This stance comes in response to ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory following the announcement of a peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the U.S.

He emphasized that the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon is a critical aspect of ending the war between the U.S. and Iran. "Without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they occupied during the current war, the war cannot be considered fully ended," he added.

Araghchi further stressed that any Israeli attack on Lebanon would be treated as a violation of the peace memorandum. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, echoed this sentiment, stating that Iran will closely monitor the situation in Lebanon and employ all necessary means to ensure the opposing side fulfills its obligations. The end of the conflict in Lebanon is an integral part of the Iran-U.S. war-ending MoU, Baghaei noted, adding that Iran would finalize the signing mechanism soon.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, acting as a mediator, announced that the official signing ceremony would take place in Switzerland on Friday. Baghaei mentioned that Iranian representatives would visit several countries before the Geneva meeting to finalize the MoU.
