Iran's Foreign Minister Accuses U.S. of 'Failure' and Warns: 'False Intelligence is Worse Than Fake News'

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United States on Thursday of making critical errors stemming from prolonged intelligence failures. He stated that the U.S. has consistently misjudged situations due to what he described as "intelligence failure."

Araghchi pointed to the war on Iran as a prime example of these flawed U.S. assessments. He further asserted that Washington is now making an "even bigger mistake in the Strait of Hormuz." The minister issued a stern warning to the American side, stating, "Be careful," and emphasizing that "false intelligence is worse than fake news."

These remarks followed statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump on the social platform Truth Social. Trump had claimed that the United States maintains "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz, describing the U.S. naval blockade as a "steel wall" against which Iran could do nothing.

Trump had reiterated his assertions about Iran's weakened military capabilities, claiming the country no longer possesses naval or air power and that its remaining soldiers are unpaid, while the Revolutionary Guard is being dismantled and its members are fleeing.
