Trump applies new condition on Iran talks: compensation from Tehran

President Donald Trump has escalated demands in potential negotiations with Iran, stating the U.S. will now require compensation from Tehran for its past actions.

This new condition emerged after Iran suggested over the weekend that the U.S. would need to offer compensation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The back-and-forth implies that both sides remain distant from an agreement to restore passage through the crucial waterway. Trump's latest requirement seems to diminish hopes for a quick resolution.
