Iran Suspends Western Flights Amid Escalating Tensions with Israel Following Lebanon Attack

Iran has grounded all flights in its western airspace as tensions escalate with Israel, according to the Tasnim agency. This decision comes after an Israeli attack on southern Lebanon, an action Iran has declared will not go unanswered.

The suspension affects flights originating from and destined for airports in western Iran. The agency, which is linked to the Revolutionary Guard, stated the measure was taken "given the current situation," suggesting a potential Iranian response to the recent Israeli aggression.

Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament and chief negotiator for peace talks, posted on X (formerly Twitter) referencing the Israeli attack. He stated, "You will never be able to isolate even a single part of the pillars of resistance." Qalibaf asserted that "the jihad of the brave fighters of Lebanon and the powerful diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran guarantee the sovereignty and territorial integrity of beloved Lebanon and will dismantle the edifice of madness and warmongering of the Zionist regime."

Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced on Sunday evening that it was preparing for a possible attack directed towards its territory "in the coming hours." Amidst this heightened tension, U.S. President Donald Trump, who had criticized the Israeli attack, reiterated his belief that a peace agreement would be signed shortly.
