Israeli attacks in Lebanon kill 3,783 since March, health ministry says

Lebanon's health ministry reported on Sunday that at least 3,783 people have died and 11,699 have been injured in Israeli attacks since March 2. The figures were released despite fragile de-escalation attempts and a ceasefire that has been systematically violated.

On Sunday, an Israeli airstrike on the Dahye, a southern Beirut suburb considered a Hezbollah stronghold, killed at least three people and injured six. The Israeli military confirmed it targeted Hezbollah sites in the area, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office. This attack followed reports of three projectiles fired from Lebanon into Israeli border communities and Israel's order to evacuate over ten southern Lebanese towns.

Israeli strikes also hit the town of Doueir, causing significant damage to its town hall and a nearby Lebanese Civil Defense center. Several Civil Defense members sustained minor injuries. Other southern towns, including Shukin, Mefdon, Al Qusaybah, Ansar, Nabatieh al Fouqa, and Kawthariyat al Sayad, were also targeted in Israeli airstrikes, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

This escalation occurs as a Qatari delegation arrives in Tehran to promote a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. Iranian media reports suggest the agreement is imminent. Qatar, along with Pakistan, is mediating the peace talks. The specifics of the agreement, including whether it will halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon, remain unknown. U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the agreement would be signed Sunday, potentially reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
