Iranian source: Mediators propose 10-day ceasefire

Iran has received proposals from mediators aimed at resuming negotiations with the United States, according to an Iranian source. The offers reportedly include a potential 10-day ceasefire.

The development comes amid ongoing military confrontations between Iran and the U.S. The conflict escalated on February 28, with both nations engaging in military clashes. A memorandum signed in mid-June by the U.S. and Iran had initially stipulated a 60-day ceasefire.

However, tensions flared again in early July when the U.S. launched strikes on targets in Iran. The U.S. cited Iran's alleged attacks on three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz as justification for its actions. Since then, both sides have continued their military engagements.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that proposals had been received through intermediaries. "The proposals submitted through mediators have been conveyed to us and received," stated ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
