Iranian Suspect Wanted by Interpol Arrested in Bodrum Drug Bust

An international sting operation in Bodrum, Turkey, has resulted in the capture of an Iranian national sought by Interpol for international drug trafficking. Kasra Ashrafi, who was the subject of a red notice, was arrested in a coordinated effort by the Muğla Provincial Police Department and the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).

The operation targeted Ashrafi, who is accused of involvement in a significant drug smuggling network. His arrest is a key success for Turkish law enforcement and intelligence agencies working in cooperation with international partners to combat transnational crime.

During the apprehension, authorities confiscated a substantial amount of cash, totaling 45,000 Euros, along with cryptocurrency wallets and various other valuable items. The seizure of these assets is expected to disrupt the financial operations of the drug trafficking ring.

Following his arrest, Kasra Ashrafi was brought before a court. The judge ordered his detention, and he has been transferred to prison to await further legal proceedings. This action underscores Turkey's commitment to combating international criminal activities within its borders.
