Information released by the U.S. State Department years ago indicates the group initially trafficked cocaine and heroin from South America into Ireland, then expanded throughout Britain and mainland Europe. The organization is also linked to money laundering, arms dealing, and murders. A feud with a rival Dublin drug gang brought the clan international attention, including a 2016 shooting at a Dublin hotel during a boxing event where the accused was reportedly the target but escaped unharmed.
