IRGC Claims 200 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Nasr 2 Operation

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has released a comprehensive assessment of damage allegedly inflicted upon U.S. military forces during a fifteen-day retaliatory operation, dubbed Nasr 2. The IRGC claims that approximately 200 U.S. soldiers were killed in attacks targeting American bases in a Gulf state.

In the report, it is claimed that as many as 200 US soldiers were killed as a result of the attack on the base in the Gulf country by Iran later.

Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi, an IRGC spokesperson, stated that the operation targeted U.S. military bases in various regions believed to be used for launching attacks against Iran. According to Mohebi, the Iranian strikes damaged or destroyed numerous U.S. air assets. These reportedly included 11 fighter jets and helicopters, 17 reconnaissance and operational drones, eight aerial refueling aircraft, and four heavy military helicopters.

Iran further claims to have destroyed a specific F-15 fighter jet within a hardened aircraft shelter, a P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, and a C-17 Globemaster military transport plane. Mohebi indicated that eight other aircraft remained intact. Beyond air assets, the IRGC asserted that it targeted U.S. radar, command, and air defense networks. The claimed destruction includes seven command and control centers, six Patriot air defense radar units, eight early warning radars, seven air defense missile radars, five long-range radar installations, five FPS and FPS-117 radar systems, three air and maritime surveillance radars, and three satellite communication systems.

The operation targeted U.S. military bases in various regions that Iran claims were used to launch attacks against the country.

Infrastructure supporting U.S. military operations in the region was also reportedly hit. The IRGC claims to have destroyed six MQ-9 Reaper drone hangars, five fighter jet hangars, four aircraft protection hangars, one F-15 preparation hangar, one drone hangar containing eight unmanned aircraft, and one hangar housing a P-8 Poseidon. Additionally, six parking areas, aircraft aprons, four HIMARS rocket launchers, and four Patriot air defense systems were allegedly destroyed. The IRGC also reported the destruction of 17 weapons depots, aircraft spare parts storage, naval equipment, 12 fuel storage tanks, one fuel pier, and one aircraft carrier refueling facility.
