Islamabad DC dismisses fake notification on office closures

A misleading notification falsely announcing office closures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been officially dismissed by Islamabad's Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Nawaz Memon. The fake notice, circulating online, claimed a shutdown from April 20 onwards. Memon has urged the public to disregard such unverified information and to exclusively consult the district administration's official social media accounts for authentic updates.

This clarification comes amid heightened security measures in the capital. The Red Zone has been closed to traffic, and alternative routes have been provided as Islamabad prepares for the potential arrival of foreign delegations. Public and heavy transport services have also been suspended until further notice, mirroring similar restrictions imposed by the Rawalpindi district administration. These measures are reportedly in place ahead of a possible second round of talks scheduled to take place in Islamabad.
