Israeli Airstrike Kills Four-Year-Old in Gaza

Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza on Sunday killed at least three Palestinians, including a four-year-old boy, and injured several others. The Gaza Civil Defense rescue service reported that two Palestinians died in an airstrike on the city of az-Zawayda. One of the deceased was identified as four-year-old Muhammad Abdel Salam Taha.

"Two martyrs and several injured were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah," located in the central Gaza region, the Civil Defense stated. A Palestinian refugee, Abu Ahmed, described the scene near a building destroyed by the airstrike, lamenting, "There is no ceasefire, nothing. We want a solution; we want to live in peace."

Another Israeli attack reportedly killed one person in the Nuseirat refugee camp, also in central Gaza. The Palestinian news agency Wafa also documented a separate Israeli strike near the Maghazi refugee camp. Al Jazeera correspondents reported new Israeli drone strikes in the southern city of Khan Younis and quadcopter attacks in eastern Gaza City, which injured a 33-year-old journalist, Ezz el-Din al-Batsh.

These incidents follow a deadly Israeli drone strike on the al-Hasanat family in Deir el-Balah the previous day. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 1,286 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since a "ceasefire" agreement took effect in October. Since the conflict began in October 2023, Israeli forces have killed over 73,400 Palestinians in the territory.
