Israeli attacks kill six more people in Gaza

Israeli attacks killed six people across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to Gaza's civil defense agency and health officials. The violence continues despite a ceasefire in place in the Israel-Hamas war, with progress toward a final peace deal stalled.

Among the day's casualties were two people killed and several injured when an Israeli drone struck central Gaza's Nuseirat camp. Gaza's civil defense agency reported four other fatalities from separate attacks. Hospitals confirmed receiving the bodies of six individuals.

A security source in Gaza stated that an Israeli drone strike targeted the vehicle of Hazem Qassem, a Hamas spokesman. While Qassem was not in the vehicle, his bodyguard was killed in the strike and was among the six reported fatalities. The Israeli military has not yet responded to requests for comment on the attacks.

These latest deaths bring the total to 15 Palestinians killed in less than 48 hours, with nine people, including two children, killed on Wednesday. Gaza's health ministry reports that at least 1,092 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect last October. Israel's military reports five soldiers and one civilian contractor killed during the same period.
